How I work
Mostly people come to counselling because they are experiencing dissatisfaction in their life or emotional pain or trauma of some kind, and are finding it difficult to solve this on their own. I can provide a perspective which sheds new light on these issues, clarifying them and empowering you to find solutions. Counselling is not about telling you what to do. I believe that each person holds within themselves the answers to the problems that come up for them. My job is to explore with you some of the roles and unconscious patterns that stop you from moving forward.
I offer a safe and confidential space for you to be as vulnerable and open as you need to be without fear of judgment, and to share everything that's important to you including your joys and achievements. The ideal outcome is that you develop a strong sense of self that you can always rely on. This will enable you to move into a more balanced and happy life, achieving your full potential.
We will work in a variety of ways depending on your needs - these can include guided imagery, drawing, dream work, gestalt, constellation or sand trays. Or simply listening, allowing you to be fully seen, heard and accepted. These are just some of the tools which we can use to expand your awareness about yourself and the world around you, and to help you get in touch with your inner strengths and wisdom so that you can make a positive change in your life.
I am not here to fix you but what I will do is accompany you into the deeper layers of your mind, and examine the choices that have become rooted there.
